Vascular lesions are skin blemishes that occur as a result of abnormal blood vessels directly underneath the skin, giving them a red color. Sometimes called spider veins, these blemishes are usually quite visible and many patients choose to have them treated with a medical laser. During treatment, the laser energy is absorbed by hemoglobin, the red pigment in blood cells. This causes the red cells to clear and results in the disappearance of the vascular lesion
