ACNE SCARS

Acne scars are caused by trauma from acne – a condition that begins as an irritation deep within a hair follicle or pore, disrupting the skin’s smooth structure. A scar is formed from the healing of damage that acne creates. Because the source of the scar is deep, PhotoAcoustic lasers are an ideal treatment option.

The MedLite C6 and RevLite use PhotoAcoustic energy to target the source of the scar, stimulating the body to produce more collagen and smooth the depression. Typically, acne scars require at least 4 to 6 treatment sessions for best results.

Some physicians believe that PhotoAcoustic lasers may be an effective treatment for active acne by reducing the amount of oil (sebum) in the pores. Clinical studies are currently underway to learn more.
